V Grocery is a project from Awai Group, the same team that brought you Avelo Restaurant, Pizzeria Du, and M!LK Gelato. Since we started selling our own grocery items, we decided to partner with other local vendors to offer a full plant-based grocery service.

Delivery and Pickup

Can I pick up my order instead of having it delivered?
Yes! Our storefront location is 536 Queen W. Many products are available for same-day pickup, and some others require 1 day notice.

Where do you deliver to?
We cover the city of Toronto at this time.

How do you minimize carbon footprint for delivery?
We use mostly electric cargo bikes to deliver in the central areas and East end. E-bikes use a tiny fraction of the energy used by vans or trucks, and create zero emissions. For the outer parts of the city, we group orders together and deliver by car.

Is there a delivery fee?
Yes, we charge a small amount to help cover the cost of bringing your groceries to you. The delivery fee ranges from $4 to $8, depending on your area.

Do I need to be home?
It’s easier if you’re able to receive your order when our courier brings it to you. If not, please have instructions for where to leave it. If you’ve ordered anything frozen, we can include (re-usable) ice packs if we have advance notice.

Can you come to my apartment door in a highrise building?
In order to minimize risks with COVID, and to keep our delivery service running smoothly (and keeping the cost down for you), our couriers do not go past the lobby of highrise buildings. You will need to either meet them at the entrance/lobby, or arrange for somewhere to leave your delivery.

If you have difficulty with mobility, or need to quarantine, we can make exceptions with some advance notice.

Can I tip staff? How does it work?
Yes, it’s very much appreciated by our team! Tips are split among the entire team, proportionate to each person’s hours worked. If you decide to tip in cash, it also gets added to this pool.

Products

Do you carry organic or local produce?
Some of our fruits and vegetables are farmed in Ontario, and some are organic. Our goal is to offer the most sustainable options, balancing with affordability and variety.

Do you offer re-usable packaging?
The glass bottles and jars from several vendors are re-usable, including Avelo, Parka, Pizzeria Du, and Alma + Gil. Just rinse them out right after you finish them, and we will pick them up on your next order. We are also planning to offer many more products in re-usable containers, to minimize single use packaging.

Returns

Can I get a refund or return items?
If you receive an item that you are not satisfied with, please contact us at info@vgrocery.ca with details, and we will either refund or replace your items.
